Hygiene Features - Look for hand dryers equipped with HEPA filters to ensure maximum removal of bacteria and viruses from the air. Many units also come with antimicrobial surface features for added hygiene levels.
Energy Efficiency - Prioritise energy-efficient models to reduce electricity costs and minimise environmental impact.
Speed and Performance - Opt for electric hand dryers with fast drying times to enhance user experience and promote efficiency in high-traffic areas.
Durability - Choose durable units that are built to withstand heavy usage over time. Look for models that supply robust construction and long-lasting components.

ION PURE is a soluble glass solution containing antimicrobial metal ions that’s impregnated into the Luna Mini shell during the manufacturing process – creating a germ and bacteria resistant finish.
How does it work?
Silver and Copper metal ions have antimicrobial properties that kill bacteria. Glass retains metal as ions and releases them gradually in the presence of water or moisture. So, the materials are mixed together to create a solution that can be added to a product at the manufacturing stages – giving it an inbuilt layer of protection against bacteria.

Hand dryers are very hygienic because they reduce the need to touch surfaces and therefore they lower the risk of spreading disease. Hand dryers that contain a HEPA filter help to remove bacteria from the air that they use to dry your hands. Both of the Dyson hand dryers, as well as our Luna Dry unit has built-in HEPA filters. Making sure hands are not wet prevents potential germs from escaping from the washroom. We recommend using hand sanitiser after drying hands to achieve extra protection.

Yes, hand dryers with HEPA filters remove 99.9% of the bacteria from the air expelled onto hands during the drying process, helping prevent the spread of disease.
Yes, hand dryers are cost-effective, certainly compared with older, less efficient models. Initial offers a range of hand dryers that are economical to run, potentially saving hundreds of pounds in energy over 12 months compared to less efficient warm air dryers.
Whilst some older, warm air dryers can be expensive to run, modern hand dryers such as Luna Dry can operate on as little as 300w. And with a rapid dry time, they offer one of the most energy-efficient ways to dry your hands.
Industries with high footfall such as supermarkets, restaurants, bars and factories are ideal sectors for commercial hand dryers. This allows businesses to provide rapid and efficient hand dryer when placed in high use washrooms. The choice of hand dryer though is important, and should be matched to the customer's needs. On the rare occasions where electric hand dryers are not suitable, Initial provides paper and cotton roller towel options.
To choose the right hand dryer for your business, one must first evaluate the unit's cost, power, speed, energy efficiency, noise level, and durability against your washroom's foot traffic and customer expectations.
