Through the public interview, several key insights were uncovered:

• 67% of respondents rated the cleanliness of public washrooms at an average of 3 out of 5, indicating moderate satisfaction but also highlighting significant room for improvement.
• All respondents agreed that basic hygiene essentials such as tissue paper, hand soap, hand sanitisers, feminine hygiene units, air fresheners, and toilet seat cleaners are vital for a positive washroom experience, with tissue paper being mentioned most frequently. 
• A majority shared that a fresh-smelling washroom enhances user comfort, creates a more pleasant environment, and encourages longer use.

These findings underscore the importance of essential washroom hygiene, reflecting Malaysians’ clear expectation that public washrooms be clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.

Building on these insights, it becomes clear that maintaining high hygiene standards is no longer just a basic expectation — it’s a requirement that must be consistently met across various sectors.
